Why do I write ?

Image
I have thought about this a lot, maybe someday, I will be confident enough to publish all of this, but for now, this should suffice. I’ve always wanted to write a book. But why? Because I have so much to say and sometimes even words fall short.  It is inane that in my worst moments I find comfort in reading and in my moments of euphoria I can barely type a full sentence without skipping to the next one.  There is this inexplicable urge to write everything I feel. Maybe it comes because I want to remember everything, maybe it comes out like vomit, to write and let it all out. Either way, I write like a possessed man who has been running on coffee, no sleep and i being driven by his emotions Maybe I write because once you write, it is true. I write for assurance or maybe I write about things that would take me away from reality into a fantasy- a place where people speak what they really feel and people feel understood. Maybe I write because that is all I’ve ever known- wh...

Break the auto-pilot mode

Image
So lately, I had been getting really worked up and would work under stress, usually guilt or the fear of not finishing the task at hand on time. Amidst all this and bad time management skills I had no "me" time left anymore and the tiredness and stress pent up week after week. so, eventually became an endless cycle of less sleep. tiredness and the need to give my 100% at everything I did made it worst and I decided to give up- give up my dance class, my gym sessions, tutoring , committee meetings. It all became too much and left me with no time to focus on my academics and myself. At first, it sounded convenient but it was also foolish to give up that I had worked for. After thinking it through I realized it had come down crashing because I did'nt give myself a break. So, if you have found yourself in a similar situation, here are some ways you can calm yourselves just pause, breathe. ( they might be different for each individual, but these are some of my ways to r...

WHY SHOULD ONE TRAVEL?

Image
WHY SHOULD ONE TRAVEL ? Recently I took a trip to Pune and Mumbai. It was a very spontaneous trip that me and my friend had planned   in two days and had to leave in the next two days. The cherry on top was that it was my first solo trip. Over the course of this trip, I realized a few things which I had penned down and have decided to share them on my blog. 1)   RELAXATION - This goes without saying that one travels to feel relax but we often get caught up in the monotonous life and forget to recognize when our body needs rest. Travelling is like therapy. It helps the body rejuvenate, also gives a rush of much needed adrenaline when we do something new. Relaxation helps the body to feel better and perform any tasks better and efficiently. 2) TO FIND INSPIRATION - This is something I realized while I was on my trip, we tend to notice things carefully when travelling- people, nature, dogs ,streets everything. This gives us a new perspective on things...

REASONS TO STOP OVER-USING SMART PHONES

You are at a concert, Katy Perry is on the stage singing "roar". The crowd is going wild, everyone is singing along. Except you, you are busy recording the entire video to put on an Instagram story to update 400 followers of your who don't care what you are doing right now. In today's fast paced world, our whole day revolves around our mobile phones starting from the alarms to wake you up to dimming the lights at night. All with the help of one click. Smart phones are abominable because - they have caused us, human beings to be over dependent, have affected our health- physically and mentally and have limited our ability to think on our own. From the moment we get up to the moment our head hits the bed, our phones control our entire day be it finding the best route to get to work, appointments, birthdays, making phone calls everything is fulfilled by one device- the smartphone. As much as it has made our lives simpler, we cannot deny the fact that it has sucked...
