10 THINGS TO START DOING IN 2020


1) IMPROVING YOUR SLEEP SCHEDULE-

Most of us sleep late night and have to wake up early for work, college or school which causes sleep deprivation. Getting less than 7 hours of sleep on a regular basis can eventually lead to health consequences that affect your entire body. This may also be caused by an underlying sleep disorder. Caffeine is a temporary solution to stimulating your body. In fact, caffeine can cause lack of sleep which can turn a person into an insomniac.
2) READING

-
Reading a book, novel or at least 10 pages everyday can help you improve your vocabulary and honestly is a better entertainer than social media. Books can open up a new world to you, created by you and are the best escape from reality.

A few suggestions for books to kick-start your new reading habit this 2020 are-

3) JOURNALING
A journal can be anything you want. There are no rules to follow or restrictions. A journal helps you stay organized, helps you to de-stress and hones your creativity. Some of the popular types of journals are-

4) EXERCISING

Any form of exercise whether it is jogging, going for a run, going to the gym helps you get your blood flowing. Exercising helps the body to become alert and stay productive for the entire day

5) SAVING-
We as people, have a tendency to spend irresponsibly sometimes. and tend to spend on things which aren't really necessary. Instead, we can save that money which can be used more efficiently later.












6) TRAVELLING

As mentioned in my earlier blog, travelling has a lot of benefits. It is extremely wise to invest in experiences because when we look back, we will remember all the memories and cherish them for a long time.






7) PRACTICING YOUR HOBBY REGULARLY

There are countless hobbies all of us leave behind and forgotten because of our busy schedules. It is time to get back in touch with our creative sides. It can be anything from doodling to dancing. There are no restrictions. My cousin once said something and it has stuck with me, she said " Everyday find one hour  in your day where you don't listen to anybody, just do what you feel like". Use this hour for practicing your hobbies. If you haven't find your pick, it's okay, try everything and the one which brings you the most joy, pick that.




8) MEDITATE

From the start of the day to the end, we make decisions, sometimes luckily they are easy ones, sometimes tough. So it's important to de-stress and calm yourself after a hectic day at work. Meditating helps you calm down, reduces anxiety and helps you focus. Start small- 5minutes then 10 and so on. You will find difference in your life.








9) DECLUTTER
-
Give away old clothes, stationary, furniture anything and everything which isn't in use anymore. A simple way to declutter is to pick an item and ask yourself a simple question- " does this bring me joy" if yes, keep it. Otherwise donate it. Declutter helps you clear space and also gives the impression of a clear mind, and space and helps you think better and bonus- you can make space for new stuff!











10) TRY NEW THINGS

Let this new year be about experimenting with new music, adopting and modifying your lifestyle and trying a new genre of books, anything simple or learning a new form of dance. The list is endless. Make a list and tick it off this year.
