WHY SHOULD ONE TRAVEL?

WHY SHOULD ONE TRAVEL?

Recently I took a trip to Pune and Mumbai. It was a very spontaneous trip that me and my friend had planned  in two days and had to leave in the next two days. The cherry on top was that it was my first solo trip. Over the course of this trip, I realized a few things which I had penned down and have decided to share them on my blog.

1)  RELAXATION-
This goes without saying that one travels to feel relax but we often get caught up in the monotonous life and forget to recognize when our body needs rest. Travelling is like therapy. It helps the body rejuvenate, also gives a rush of much needed adrenaline when we do something new. Relaxation helps the body to feel better and perform any tasks better and efficiently.

2) TO FIND INSPIRATION-
This is something I realized while I was on my trip, we tend to notice things carefully when travelling- people, nature, dogs ,streets everything. This gives us a new perspective on things and sometimes also gives us the inspiration we are looking for. Inspiration is more likely to  be found in new places, rather than when you are sitting in your work desk cramming your head for new ideas.

3) TO LEARN-
Travelling teaches you to handle your expenses, navigate just about any route, adjust- starting from food to hostel rooms. All of these are important things which can come in handy and only travelling can you teach you these things.

4) TO THINK-
In our day to day life, we rarely look back on what we have achieved and how far we have come. We become so engrossed in our daily lives that we often forget to take a step back, reflect on our lives. Travelling helps you clear your mind, refresh it with better thoughts, ideas and a positive feeling.

5) TO EXPERIENCE NEW THINGS-
Experiencing new things can range from trying new cuisine to skydiving. The list is endless with numerous categories. It can be something very simple or something that you've always dreamt of doing. Doing it fills us with a sense of achievement and positivity and even motivates us to tick off other things on our bucket lists.

6) TO FIND BEAUTY IN THE ORDINARY-
Sometimes we are so busy in our lives, we forget to appreciate the small things- like a baby smiling at you from a window, reaching home to warm home cooked meal but when we find the time to stop and think, we find beauty on the empty streets of the city, we find it in the stray dog by the roadside. These things make us love the things around us a little more which we often tend to take for granted.

Lastly, I want to end my article my saying "Travelling is like meditating, you won't realize it's healing power unless you try it". I encourage all of you travel at least once and observe the difference in your lives.
