WHAT YOU SHOULD INCLUDE IN YOUR 2021 JOURNAL

With New Year’s coming up, almost everyone has a journal in the to-buy list. But let’s face it, The constant instagram ADs about pretty journals is very tempting but given a second thought, they are impractical. The daily tracking of water intake, mood tracker is very difficult to keep up ( Trust me, I’ve tried) and don’t lie, you have too.

So I put together my own version of 2021 Journal and here’s how you can too.

Be Realistic- So sort out what you would actually be able to keep up with and make a basic outline of how you want your journal to look.

So here’s what I decided my journal would have-

  • Monthly Calendar

  • Monthly Picks- books, shows, movies, songs

  • Monthly Goals- personal, academic, work-wise

  • Achievements of the Month

Make it Pretty and Efficient- Choosing a theme monthly can actually help you look forward for the month and plan.
Something to even try is to add a theme which also helps you learn about something
For Example- the different types of art, so, January could be abstract art, feb could be realism and so on (or) you could with something very simple like a floral theme

Adding a mini- vision Board-   If you’ve spent time looking at youtube videos of vision boards, now is your time to put it to action, Instead of going all out and making a board, you could start with making a vision board at the start of your journal, because it will keep remining you of your dreams everytime you flip through the pages of your journal

Decorate your journal with things you want to be reminded of- This is very subjective, So I bought a plain book and DIYed it into a journal
So I started off by decorating the cover with some quotes almost like self reminders and things that make me happy this will be a self reminder of the kind of person you aspire to be and actually are

Have Fun with It- Okay, so this really isn't a pointer, but what is the point of journaling if you can't have fun with it. So go crazy with colors, paint and make it your very own Because as the years pass by, it will represent the person you were in that year, make it a cherishable memory
