The Subtle Art Of Accessorizing

Image
Christian Marclay, A Visual Artist once said “Art is all in the details” and I think that applies to fashion as well. As Crop Tops, Tie-Dyes and loose fits have taken over the internet and fashion world by storm, there are a few things that outlive these “trends”. Here are five ways you can accessorize your outfits and take it from a basic level to a well thought out outfit.  Scrunchies Scrunchies have been existing in the market for a while but after the “VSCO Girl” trend, Scrunchies have become more famous than ever. They’re cute, easy to wear and most IMPORTANTLY, keep the hair out of your face. They come in different fabrics like Satin, Organza and some even have extensions to tie as a bow. I usually pair mine with super simple outfits so the attention goes to the scrunchie. A good example would be with a plain white tee with mildly washed blue jeans.  Want to look like you put effort into styling your hair? Scrunchies are the easy way out. Neckpieces “Less is More...

One thing I absolutely love and spend most of my free time doing is finding new things- Art, Books, Music, Shows, Movies, Poems and I can go on and on and on. Most things I find are usually through Pinterest, YouTube Comments, Following a few YouTube Channels, Reading an Author’s Favorite or about his inspiration (Always a great way to find great art) . Here are a few things I’ve discovered this month so far- Music: Let’s start with something easy. I don’t really have a specific genre of music that I like but I think it could be broadly classified as Retro Chill or Vintage Vibe. This month I’ve Come across something a little different.  Halsey’s - “I'm not a Woman, I’m a god Halsey’s- “Girl is a Gun Cage the Elephant’s -”Cigarette Daydream” Lord Huron’s - “Long Lost” Honestly, I love the Lyrics of Halsey’s new songs, Makes me feel confident and powerful but Cigarette Daydream and Long lost have been playing on loop. Lord Huron’s have a sense of Calm and a weird sense of f...

Okay, let’s start with a basic one. A ton of people would disagree with me, but I like sunsets more than sunrises. Hear me out okay, hues of pink, orange and blue, just feels so beautiful. One of the most beautiful sunsets I had witnessed was when I travelled to Mumbai. The colors of the sky were just mesmerizing.  So yeah, Sunsets > Sunrises.  I’m a talker - Most people who personally know me would know this. Although I love listening to other people, There’s always something going on in my head that I NEED to express.so yeah, big talker. I have a waiting list for Songs - Whenever I hear a song and I like it, I don’t immediately add it to my playlists. I just ‘Like it’ on Spotify. I wait for a couple of days, just to see if I like the song as much after a few days and then add it. I currently have 63 songs on the ‘liked songs’ list. I don’t know, I'm very picky when it comes to adding the songs on my playlist. I can’t start my day without coffee- This one I think ...

A Conversation with a Stranger

Hyderabad’s Monsoons are unpredictable. On some days, the sun’s heat can almost be felt on your skin and on other days, it rains day and night. Today was such a day. While leaving for work it was raining heavily and the roads seemed half sunken. I walked out of my office and started looking for Rickshaws and almost every driver quoted triple the price. After waiting for a while, there came a Rickshaw, he took me by surprise when he said “ Jitna paise dene hai, do” which translates to give the amount you think is appropriate. Taken aback by the kindness, I doubted whether taking that Rickshaw because it was getting late and kindness in the times of need, was a rarity. I took my chance seeing no other Rickshaw in sight. After a while, he explained that he worked as (A distributor and cab driver) and why he had to resort to driving a Rickshaw. I wasn't in the mood for conversation but replied nevertheless. Ali (he later introduced himself)then explained how people give so much impo...
