Hair Care 101
Hair Care 101
I'm out here living my low-key lifestyle blogger life. Firstly, I'm no expert at this, there are just tips and tricks I've been using for a while and I thought I could help my fellow readers.
So here we go--
1) know your hair type-- So I think it's important your hair type to know what it lacks and how you could improve the quality, texture or to maintain the same texture, density and volume.
There's generally 4 types of hair
Straight Hair
Wavy Hair
Curly Hair
Coiled Hair
2) REALLY know your hair - - by this I mean, know what issues it faces--dryness, dandruff, split ends.
You could either consult a Dermatologist for the same or try home remedies if it's mild
3) Create a Hair Care Routine -- having a set routine can help you make sure you are giving your hair all the care it needs.
My haircare usually involves - washing my hair twice a week( I don't recommend washing it more than thrice, it washes out the necessary oil from the scalp making it super dry)
My hair care routine usually involves washing it twice a week. Once oiling it, leaving it overnight and washing
the second time by applying a hair masks ( I use it as a replacement to the conditioners) and washing it off with a mild shampoo.
4) Choose the right products - - Your hair requires toxin free products and free from sulphate and other harmful chemicals. So a make sure you choose products free from them. I'll link some products Down below
I personally don't use a serum or conditioner (personally think the lesser, the better)
5) DRY WELL-- Drying your hair after washing is the most important part because that is when your hair is prone to breakage. It's advised to use a cotton tee or a really soft cloth to dry it. (avoid using hair dryer, if you're not in a hurry)
Hair Masks
1) yoghurt - banana hair mask - start out by pouring yoghurt (according to your hair length) add a banana (mash it really well) honey ( this has started to look more like a good recipe I know, trust me it's worth it) and aloe vera gel and apply on the hair roots and lengths
Leave it on for 30-45min and wash it out with a mild shampoo
2) Aloe vera gel mask - this is probably the easiest hair mask. Apply fresh aloe vera gel to your hair length and roots
Leave it on for 30-45min and wash with a mild shampoo
3) Rice water- add water to a bowl of rice and leave it overnight
Then using a spray bottle, use the water in your roots and leave it on.
While washing, use the left over water to wash your hair
