"So, what after graduation?" "What do you plan on doing? What's been up with me (professionally) Growing up, I had a clear path set out for myself, what I hadn't realized then was that at every step, there would be obstacles and everything I wanted, would arrive at a certain time, I couldn't force it, no matter how hard I tried.  After graduation, I was confident that I would figure it out until people made me question my decisions. I saw people around me chose different paths, my path seemed blurry and dark, and walking it alone did not seem very pleasant. I decided that I wanted to gain some experience and get into a field that I found very intriguing, but my college did not offer such experiences. So I decided to take matter into my own hands, considering the field I wanted is not very well- known in my city, unlike IT. I applied to a couple places, got rejected to a few and when I had almost given up for the time being, an offer came along, it seemed ve...

A little bit of today | tomorrow of bit little A

A little bit of today |A little bit of tomorrow Epiphanies and Reflections I've been trying to write for a while now, but I just couldn't.  I recently read something on Tumblr that helped me kick start writing. I'll link it here- Read this here It's been one month today. One month that I've lost another significant part of my life in a span of one year. It's almost funny how time flies by. The other day, I told my mum "The best and worst thing about life is that, it moves on."  It feels like life is on autopilot, whether we choose it or not.   Do we really move on or do we distract ourselves to maintain our sanity? A few months back, when I was redoing my room, I bought the glow in the dark stickers for the ceiling. It just reminded me of my childhood days and I'd have my own sky to stare at, at night.  I don't remember the last time I looked up at my ceiling and admired them.  I either read like there's no tomorrow or I don't read at a...

Buried Treasures I Dig- Poetry, Films and Shows

Image
If you write, you know you have half written stuff on your notes app, This blog post was buried deep in my app, until I remembered a particular line from one of the poetries and it all just came rushing back. In the most simplest sense, if you were to take a sneak peek on my YouTube, here's what you'd see and I recommend this to anyone who enjoys art. Spoken Word Poetry: "Why I don't fall in love" by Shamir Reuben  This one was introduced to me by my brother, and I had heard it once and didn't really find it amusing, but I came back to it later and since then, when I'm in the mood for poetry, I come back to this. Now I know, some of you may not approve of the artist due to an allegation, but the whole debate of Art vs the Artist has made me think of 'Art for art's sake'. Plug in your earphones and just take it in. Here's an excerpt from the poem, which I hope will convince you further. "I think my love blinded me to the predicament we ...

Why Meghalaya should be on your travel bucket list

Image
This trip was a result of our angst,of not being able to travel anywhere for almost a year and a half and we chose a place we knew would blow all our angst, worries, monotony away for good.  We landed in Meghalaya on 10th May, 2022 unknown that we would come back with a bag filled with memories, adventure, unprecedented rains leaving us drenched from tip to toe but nevertheless happy and above all, content. Shillong is quaint hillstation located in Meghalaya, located in the north eastern part of India and it took us no time to fall in love with the place. Carrying an umbrella, a backpack we left each morning, in the hopes that it wouldn't rain and hinder our plans. We found ourselves munching on local berries(called sophphie), which we devoured to the last packet we stored for several days after. We visited all the touristy places like Ward's lake, Lady Hydari park, The Don Bosco Museum and St Cathedral church.  We shopped, ate street food and came home exhausted each day, onl...

PoV: you fall in love.

Before we get into the post: Yes, I've been MIA for two months on this blog, but the past two months, right before my graduation were excruciating to say the least, overlapped events, assignments, dissertation, exams, farewell - everything seemed to be happing in a blur, like life was just happening to you. I didn't want to write when I was not feeling myself. So I took an unannounced two month break and here I am. Fast forward to now, I am now done with my finals and I'm just relaxed, doing things at my own time, reading, getting back to things I left half way, watching shows, exercising basically everything that I didn't do in the past two months that made me feel human. I'm slowly falling back into pattern of slow living, which feels relieving to be honest.   "Why do you write?" " I write because I feel things." I n one of the letters to Theo, Van Gogh wrote "I also have nature, art and poetry and if that isn't enough, what is?" ...
